Baking sprays?
Can you compare these with the refillable, reusuable containers?
Great product idea.
Or you just pour oil in the pan?
I like using cornhuskers duck fat spray
We agree with the refillable type, and that is all we use now. We typically use a general cooking oil like soybean, canola, etc. We quit using the spray cans like PAM years ago when it was suggested that they damage non-stick teflon pans. Easy and cheap to use, no cans to throw away, etc.
Will they ever review a Kirkland product?
I use the Chosen Foods brand for my air fryer because it says not to use sprays with propellants there. Maybe because of the high heat? Otherwise good old Pam is definitely the nonstickiest nonstick spray for baking!
Most nonstick pans warn you not to use cooking spray that contains lecithin. They say that it ruins the nonstick properties of the pan. The soy lecithin creates a sticky, gummy buildup on the coating. This residue accumulates over time, becomes difficult to remove without damaging the surface, and ultimately ruins the pan's non-stick properties. So use them at your own risk. I have changed to the avocado oil spray that they were showing for things like sautéing in my nonstick pans. I still use the cooking spray for coating bakeware.
This is the most shade I’ve ever seen Jack throw and I am HERE FOR IT. Can I send him a tip somewhere? I cackled like a witch with two kids in the oven.
The video recommends different cooking sprays depending on your needs:
For general use and simplicity, the traditional Pam cooking spray (1:44) is recommended due to its even spray and ease of use (1:57–2:07).
If you need to sauté at high heat, the Chosen Foods brand (1:34) is suggested as the only effective propellant-free option (2:46–2:55).
Jack, you have previously clued me into the fact that canola oils can have an odd and unpleasant fishy odor to them when exposed to too much heat/time/or both. 👍
I'm really surprised that ATK didn't mention the other benefit to using non-propellant cooking oil. Lecithin will build up on nonstick pans! Go propellant free if you are using cooking oil spray on nonstick cookware.
I prefer butane, propane, and lecithin free cooking spray.
Leave it to the health nuts to go absolutely insane in the comments to an innocent video comparing cooking sprays
I have a spray bottle (glass) that I fill with olive oil or whatever oil I want. No additives.
0:40 A Little Propane or Butane with my eggs sounds Delicious. 😋
Been using Vegalene professional grade premium 3 oil blend for years. Not available grocery stores/supermarket but is available on Amazon. This stuff is amazing well worth seeking out.
Only if you wanted could you have not sprayed the outer surface. Come'on Jack. Were not stupid. No excuse for your attempt to fool. A higher angle spray was attainable, you chose not to. Your time is up.
🎉
I just put extra light olive oil in a spray bottle, only work with thinner oil tho, EVOO just clog the nozzle
Either use a refillable spray bottle or just drizzle a little oil into the pan (wipe if you want). These spray cans are expensive
NOTE, coconut oil spray cans will not work if COLD….as the oil solidifies.
So glad to have you guys around so I don't have to figure all this stuff out through trial and error. Thanks a bunch!
I can taste the chemicals they use in tne orignal pam. Am i the only one?
People still use these? I've been using a refillable pump spray bottle for like 15 years. You put whatever you want in it. Dramatically cheaper. Better for the environment. Blah blah. I dont know why people still use those cans.
I like Bertoli. Walmart has the best price.
PAM is da MA(M)N! Thx!
