✋🏽Who else loves a hot bowl of Pork Sinigang? 😋
Here’s how we make it at Cook and Eats with Almirez 👩🍳👇
• ½ kilo pork belly (liempo) or ribs
• 1 medium onion, quartered
• 2 tomatoes, quartered
• 1 pack sinigang mix (or fresh tamarind if you’re traditional 😜)
• 1 radish (labanos), sliced
• 1 eggplant, sliced
• 5–6 pieces okra, ends trimmed
• 1 bundle kangkong (water spinach)
• 2 pcs long green chili (siling pangsigang)
• Salt or fish sauce (patis) to taste
• 5 cups water
🔥 How to Cook:
1. In a pot, boil pork until tender. Skim off the scum for a clear soup.
2. Add onion and tomatoes. Let simmer for 5–10 minutes to release flavor.
3. Pour in sinigang mix (or tamarind juice). Stir well.
4. Add radish, eggplant, and okra. Cook until the veggies are tender.
5. Drop in the green chili and kangkong. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.
6. Season with patis or salt to taste.
Serve hot, pour over rice, and enjoy every maasim, malasa, and comforting spoonful! 😋🍚
