Robyn on the Farm’s Bread Machine 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread Recipe (2 lb loaf)
1 1/4 c water
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 c honey
3 3/4 c whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp vital wheat gluten (optional)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast or instant yeast
Place ingredients in bread machine pan in order listed. Set to whole wheat or basic white loaf (3 hour cycle). Within the first few minutes of kneading, take a rubber spatula and be sure all of the flour is incorporated into the dough ball. If your dough is too wet it will not look like a ball of dough–add another 1/8 c flour until it is a nice ball of dough. Let bread machine do the rest. I prefer the texture of the crust when I remove the bread right away when the timer goes off. Butter the top of the bread and cover with tea towel while cooling for softest crust. Let cool before slicing for best consistency and crumb. Enjoy your homemade loaf of 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread!
