I'm all for pork. But smash it and burry it in seasonning and shiz… Bet most people can't tell the diff
Shouldn't they be called hamburgers. Since they're made out of ham?
Since when were they NOT a thing? From the fabulous pork burgers at the Ohio State Fair, to those delicious pork burger made at home, they have long been "a thing" as far as I am concerned.
Looks delicious. Definitely gonna try. For grinding small batches of meat like this I like to use my food processor. You should try some time.
Nice to see you take as much care in the buns as everything else. The bread is often an afterthought.
There is a place called 'KATSU BURGER' near where I live that sells a breaded pork cutlet on a burger. They also have a killer Sauce called 'Wasabi Mayo'!
I think you just gave me an idea for a play off the McRib…
There's nothing wrong with the taste it's just the texture to me that is a bit off putting for pork burgers. I can't put my finger on it but it's just something I don't gel with. This comes from a man who absolutely loves pork. It took me years to realize but I've learned I enjoy beef more overall but when it comes to my favorite, it's fatty pork chop over ribeye and pork belly over brisket which really was a shock to me.
I love that you made everything! Awesome video man!
It's not a smash burger if you premake the patty. It's a squished burger.
Do pork/beef. 50/50 burger
Salmonella is a genus of rod-shaped, (bacillus) Gram-negative bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae.
(Answer to the thumbnail question)
We call it a Dago
fat carries taste, so it depends how you use the fatty part, have you tried to mix chopped up white bacon into the beef patty? you get a almost like mortadella like texture, also might sound like a sacrilege but I also love grilled chicken breast burgers, and my sister uses hungarian sausage mix with lots of red paprika powder onions and garlic as a patty as a kind of cure all when weather related cold or flu season comes……you never know what kicks into your yet unknown cravings until you taste it 😀
Do you ever watch some of your old videos for fun with your buddies? I was watching the chud brisket burger, the one where you made your own American cheese, and I was dying at the shredded lettuce “the shredttuce” comment. Any ways maybe you should, you’ve come along way Brad. Keep it up!!!
I make a breakfast patty the size of a burger and put it on a bun.. but i just called it a sausage sammich lol
I’ve had sausage “burgers” with a 1/2 pound of jimmy dean, but treated it more like breakfast with just mustard and cheese.
They're ok, but they don't have as much flavor as a beef burger. You need to season the hell out of them, which you shouldn't need to do with a good burger, all you should need is just salt and pepper.
A real HAMburger
Does your name have anything to do with the movie C.H.U.D.S. Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers?
Back in the 70s just about everyone sold pizza burgers, 2 thin layers of meat with cheese in the center. They were delicious! I'm pretty sure they were made from ground pork, maybe Italian sausage but I think they were like 50/50 pork and beef. Here in WI we have Brat burgers which are the stuffing from brats made into a patty, that would be a pork burger. I think there have been a lot of places that sold pork burgers they just had a better name because pork burger sounds disgusting. It's not deer burger it's a venison burger. There are sausage burgers that are made from pork. The thing is they're good but they're greasy that's why mixing them with beef makes a better tasting burger. You know back in the 70s we had hamburgers, it was ground up ham made into a patty they were delicious especially on the grill. That would be a pork burger wouldn't it? Your burger looks delicious.
I'd want my pork burger with a couple slices of brisket.
I enjoyed the video, been making pork burgers for a long time. Food Lion sells 1lb packages of ground pork where I live. I make Hawaiian burgers, add some bread crumbs and teriyaki to the meat, top with a grilled pineapple ring on a Kings Hawaiian roll… my family destroys them.
i make pork burgers often you gotta mince up fresh garlic to mix in you'll love it
In England, mcdonals sells something called a sausage mcmuffin, its a toasted english breakfast muffin with a seasoned pork patty and an egg and slice of cheese, its basically a pork burger and ive been eating them since i wss a kid 😊 highly recommend you try one if youre ever in England
they are a thing. its the only burgers i make.
Never had a good smash burger, they always oily and some burnt
Because pork is disgusting. Taste. Texture. Excessive fat. Boar stink. Everything about it is off-putting. It's very much like dark meat chicken without the benefit of being from an animal that produces edible meat from one part of its body.
This guy is YouTube gold! Hilarious and so fun to watch. Someone please make a supercut of him eating several of his concoctions. I chuckle every. single. time. The editing is 🔥🔥🔥
8:20 Exactly, dehydrated onions really helps tie that burger joint taste and feel all together. I like to rehydrate mine in some dill pickle juice for some extra tang.
I might have to try that!
