  1. Lard, duck fat, grass fed butter and olive oil is all I use. But so be careful of about how much you use at a given time. I use to just pour lard into the skillet and over my foods when ever I use it and gain 7 pounds over a few months Fat is healthy depending on the quality but can make you fat because it's extra calories especially lard. Measure it out. 1 tbsp of lard is approximately 115 cals.

  2. When growing up we had plenty of animal fat in the food we ate because my grandmother used it in her cooking each day. The animals had the animal fats also because she used the used cooking oils in the dog food and also fed the cats some as well.

  3. why do people value taste over health? When their is solid science showing health damaging affects of eating animal products and cooking with fat at high temperatures, why do so many people still promote and profit from these destructive behaviors?

  4. Try Ghee (clarified butter) which has higher degenerating point than vegetable oils. Tastes much better than other animal fat or other vegetable fat especially for Pulao etc. Oh I mean the authentic Ghee you make yourself from butter and not the crap that is sold ready made in cans as most are mixed with other oils. Anyone who has made Ghee themselves will know the difference in cooking with store bought ready made Ghee and actually home made Ghee. And yes Ghee is more heat stable than olive oil before anyone says it.
