  1. Tbh I’m a big fan of all your recipes but this one isn’t right, the cake comes out more spongy and light instead of rich and decadent. I’ve tried this recipe 3 times adjusted by adding more dates which helped a bit but still not the result I was looking for.

  3. It’s a pudding, not a cake, because puddings are traditionally steamed on the hob whereas cakes are baked in the oven.
    As with many things, the more recognised method these days is to bake it. But then it’s not sticky toffee pudding. It’s cake.
