Put a straw into one corner of the zipper bag and suck the air out, done.
I just use a $30 temperature controller outlet and a crock pot to sous vide. It works great.
Great tip!
I cook real, whole foods and don't want a dose of microplastics when so many safer cooking methods are available.
Use a plastic straw at one end, suck hard and seal quickly!
Side note: Needs to be a freezer quality bag such as Ziploc freezer bags.
Incredibly wasteful and irresponsible – especially after your episode about plastic containers. Pick a lane… ridiculous.
yooo ATC please test sous vide for microplastics, am I worrying for no reason lol
Does anyone else feel like this uses a lot of plastic bags? Like each meal needs a ziplock or special bag?
Doesn't this gets its dose of micro plastics
The Ziplock and Water method is sooooooo easy. I actually took my sous vide machine with me to an entirely different country and made an amazing tenderloin for my friends using some of those and a random pot! It's soooooo good!
If you only do this once in a blue moon maybe but this method isn't as convenient looks messy
