  1. Wait… Try "ThermoPro” It has 360° Barkley display. 2-3 second reading accurate ±0.9 F. Waterproof. Motion sensor on/off/wake Backlit screen. On when probe opened. AND only $30. I am really surprised that you did not review it. Why?

  2. They are NOT very subtle with their taste testing. The one that won, if you look to the right of the screen, they have out by itself on the board from the others. All she had to do was look over there and see that. It is not the first time that they have had their "winners" like that. If you know what to look for, you can guess most of what they like at the very beginning.

  3. I tried making the broccoli according to your instructions. Honestly, I was expecting them to be worth the trouble of steaming. But next time I think I will just stick to grilling them directly on the grate. The whole middle step of wrapping them in foil was a whole lot of trouble and could be simplified by just throwing them directly on the grill.

  4. I recently read Nicholas Sparks' novel Message in a Bottle, and in the book the male character (I think his name was Blaine or Blake) claims that he can make the Best Steak Ever, and he used this technique of marinating the steaks in Bourbon. He also used some tallow to help grill the steaks as well.

  5. Living in NC you are obligated to eat Mount Olive pickles…. then i went to Mount Olive College (mascot isn't a pickle…. sorely disappointed!)…. and every year we went out to the corner of Cucumber and Vine to watch them drop a huge, glowing pickle for the New Year. Their pickles aren't the best, but i still eat them all the time!

  6. I wish they would have rated the thermometers on one more criteria, which ones are are convenient to keep on your person all day, every day, for an extended period of time. As in a shirt pocket. There is a reason most cooks I've ever worked with have s simple analog pocket thermometer, because it fits in a pocket. The problem with even the smallest of digital thermometer is that they are bulky and top heavy. Try navigating a busy and crowded professional kitchen with that polder thermometer sticking out of a sleeve pocket, and see what happens. Eventually it will slip out of your pocket an onto some hard surface. At least in my experience. Personally i really love the speed and accuracy of a good digital thermometer, but every one I've ever had, eventually died, usually sooner rather than later. I know this is not as much of a concern for home cooks, but it would be nice of if test results were more nuanced, and potential deal breakers pointed out.

  7. I was just thinking about replacing my instant read thermometer and then I saw the title of this video. Not only did I get two great recipes I can't wait to try out, but I got a recommendation on a thermometer!
(which doesn't link to it on Amazon, btw)
Thanks for the great content guys!
