  1. All of these non-fishermen who talk about bleeding fish as soon as you catch them don't know what they are talking about. I get it if you walk down to the river to catch one fish and bring it home for a meal, but if you have a livewell or keep them on a stringer off of your boat, you bleed them when you are done fishing.

I went fishing with a guy who bled his fish right away and then hung them on a stringer. 6 hours later in summer warm water they were pale and stiff. I let him keep them all.

  2. I don’t think bluefish tastes all that bad, and I don’t mean any harm or offense when I say this, but I will never not find it funny when guys says stuff like “no trash fish just trash cooks” and then prepare the fish in such a way that completely masks the flavor of the fish itself. I don’t know if there’s a fish on earth that would taste particularly bad smoked. Then on top of that tons of spices and sauces or marinades.

  3. In brazil we call this fish " Anchova". Try grilling it in brazillian way. Watch some videos in the channel Universo Fishing, they have a recent video catching and cooking this blue fish. In brazil its a very appreciate food.
