ヒンドゥー教は一応牛肉だけが禁忌。でも豚肉も不浄とみなされて基本的に食べられない。イスラム教徒は豚肉が禁忌。インドで豚肉を食べる可能性のある人は、キリスト教徒や仏教徒などの非ベジタリアン。
