That's not a third degree burn, max 2nd degree.
A 3rd degree burn is when the outside gets charred and the damage is wayy too deep.
While a 2nd degree burn is when the skin gets red and skin falls off.
Had this kind of awkward conversation with a doctor too. I underestimated the brand new kitchen knife and literally sliced my whole inner hand open by accident. I just grabbed a towel, went to the ER and it was like 11pm when I got there. The doctor asked how I sliced myself and I told them I wanted to cook and try out my new kitchen knife and she looked at me and then just glued my wound so I could go home 😂 I feel you bro
