This doesn't work. It didn't even come close to working. I just ruined 75% of my chestnuts because of these trolls.
Tried this twice (cutting the end first, and then cutting the pointy tip) and both times didn't work. Like the previous commenter said, the inner pellicle didn't come off. Worse, the chestnut becomes pretty dry and hard to eat.
P.S. I usually trust and like ATK's equipment review so I am very disappointed that the tips don't work.
