HAM AND CHEDDAR SKILLET PIE (pg 21)
1/2c Bisquick baking mix
1/4c milk
1/4tsp salt
1/8tsp pepper
6 eggs
1 cup cut-up fully cooked ham
1/4c chopped green pepper
2 green onions, sliced
2Tbsp butter
1c (4oz) shredded cheddar cheese

Mix baking mix, milk, salt, pepper and eggs in bowl with fork (mixture will be lumpy); stir in ham, green pepper, and onions. Heat butter in a 10″ skillet until melted. Gradually pour ham mixture into skillet. Cover and cook over medium-low heat until almost set, 10 to 12 minutes; sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook until cheese is melted, about 3 to 5 minutes longer. 6 servings.

HERBED BISCUITS (pg 53)
2c Bisquick baking mix
2/3c milk
1/4c butter, melted
Herb-Cheese Coating (recipe below)

Heat oven to 400. Line round 8″ pan with aluminum foil; grease. Mix baking mix and milk until soft dough forms; beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Turn onto well floured surface; turn to coat. Knead 10 times. Divide into 12 parts. Coat with melted butter; roll in coating. Arrange in pan. Bake until form and no longer doughy, 18 to 20 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits.

Herb-Cheese Coating: Mix 1/2c grated Parmesan cheese, 3/4tsp Italian Seasoning, and 1/2tsp paprika.

IMPOSSIBLE CHERRY PIE (pg 37)
1c milk
2Tbsp margarine or butter, softened
1/4tsp almond extract
2 eggs
1/2c Bisquick baking mix
1/4c sugar
1 can (21oz) cherry pie filling
Streusel (below)

Heat oven to 400. Grease pie plate, 10″ by 1 1/2″ (I used a 9.5″ pie plate). Beat all ingredients except pie filling and streusel until smooth, 15 seconds in a blender on high or 1 minute with a hand beater. Pour into plate. Spoon pie filling evenly over top. Bake 25 minutes. Top with Streusel. Bake until Streusel is brown, about 10 minutes longer; cool.

Streusel: Cut 2Tbsp firm butter into 1/2c Bisquick, 1/2c packed brown sugar and 1/2tsp cinnamon until crumbly.

  1. Just drives me crazy when these people leave so much in the mixing bowl. Who can afford NOT TO USE ALL THE INGREDIENTS 😡. My Mom was a stickler about that and she instilled that in me. Waste not, want not.

  2. I had made the impossible pumpkin pie recipe back in early 90s, i just remade the recipe tat was on the web site. This time didn’t like how it came out at all. The first time was perfect. I think they changed the recipe…..lol

  3. For a cheaper and healthier (no trans fats) option, you can make your own copy-cat Bisquick recipe using butter (or home rendered lard or other oils if you prefer but I think butter gives the best flavor and texture), and it works perfectly for Impossible pies. Just store it in the refrigerator to keep the butter fresh.

  4. Hi Anna! I am also Anna. Sending greetings from Canada! I think we are very close to being the same age- and it is so much fun to watch your videos. You are my cookbook kindred spirit. I could lend you some great ones to peruse and cook from. 🙂 Thanks for your content- it brings a lot of joy and ideas!

  5. My grandmother used to make a cherry pie with boxed white cake mix and a can of cherries like you have. She mixed the dry cake mix with the fruit and baked it. Can't remember if she added anything else, but the boxed mix went in dry. That was the late 70s/early 80s.

  6. 1thing ive done while traveling with a family of 5, id mix upthe dry i gredients for say pancakes note on bag add X eggs and milk or water.
Then make whatever, EXhusband hated bisquick and I wasnt alowedbto usenit, mim sure it was because his mother was an awful cook and if she didnt like it,knowbody wasvto like or want it yep! A dictator, so glad she died right after we got married !😮😊

  7. I love Bisquick. My two favorite recipes are the mock cheese biscuits from red lobster and the coconut impossible pie. Also make the bacon quiche recipe often too that can be modified to any ingredients you like. It is very forgiving. Been using bisquick for many years and love it.

  8. Love bisquick recipes. I have a bread pudding recipe from a small Bisquick book and it’s my favorite.
I little story to age myself- when I was a kid and we bought our first microwave oven from Mcgomery wards. They offered cooking classes for the microwave. I remember going with my mom to microwave cooking class and learning how to cook different things. Remember her cooking a roast beef and it was really tough. My mom and I laughed 🤣.

  9. I make a Vidalia Onion Pie that has a Bisquick crust with sage which is good. I love the Impossible Cheeseburger Pie with sliced tomatoes on top. I have saved the boxes over the years for the recipes and do have several of their cookbooks. One is just Impossible Pies! That Cherry Pie looked like a chocolate pie–it came across as really dark. Thanks for not making biscuits in the microwave!

  10. Thank you for including me in this collaboration! I make a bee-line to the recipe book section of my local thrift stores looking for vintage good books, I love looking through them. I've done the bisquick impossible cherry pie before, but I like the addition of the streusel .

  11. I have nostalgia for Bisquick! I moved to Denmark 19 years ago, so it has been a long time since I had anything Bisquick. I Googled whether I could get it here, but nope. Then, I got a bunch of links on how to make it myself. I just love your channel. Even if I can't use your exact ingredients, the nostalgia girl in me is addicted! Thank you for that!
