Set it at “light crust” and the bottom will be less hard. Reason for liquid in the bottom is so the dry ingredient clump less. As soon as the wet hits the dry, clumps can happen easier, than the other way around.

That is some overdeveloped gluten for a cake
No science behind it the liquid it liquid at the bottom just doesnt allow for any of th flour to be left at the bottom which you ueont find out hntil you yake out the batter and its all unmixed dries at the bottom
Use a rice cooker. It's sooo good!
