✨ Step-by-step wheat stalk scoring tutorial ✨
1️⃣ Lightly wet the loaf + dust with rice flour
2️⃣ Score stalks upside down with pressure near the base
3️⃣ Flip it back + gently map out the stalk center
4️⃣ Lightly elongate the tips of each wheat berry
5️⃣ Add a 45° expansion score
6️⃣ Bake at 500°F in a Dutch oven (preheated)
- Drop temp to 460°F right after putting in the loaf
- Bake 35 mins with lid on
- Then remove lid + bake another 15+ mins until golden
7️⃣ Skip the ice cubes! I prefer thin crackly crust without extra steam
8️⃣ Always score straight from the fridge while dough is still cold + moist
9️⃣ Use a super sharp, clean razor — dirty blades = snagging!
🌾 Simple tips = way better results. Hope this helps! 💛
