What do you mean by New york state hot dogs? They are from zwigles. They are quite common, and not overly great.
I'd love to try some of the NY brand dogs. Can't get those in Michigan. Koegel and Dearborn are good local brands here. Now I want one. With sauteed onions kraut mixed together. And Guldens stone ground.

The best New York hot dogs are from the North Country, Glazier's Red Hots baby, without question, once you try them you'll see!
I like their simple approach to grilling. Nothing fancy about their grill and outstanding results. I'm actually looking to buy a charcoal grill soon.

I live in new york, Hoffmans hotdogs are the best…PERIOD, END OF STORY! Because Hoffman hotdogs are made right in my hometown, Syracuse! Go to Hieds hotdog place in Syracuse. They only use Hoffman hotdogs.

They are called red hots and white hots, in any major city in up state you can find restaurants called “hots” something or something “hots”. Basically your greasy spoon plus regional dishes. The white hots have egg white in them. Or so they say.
