Brisket point is for more than burnt ends. In this video I actually compared a brisket point to a tri tip. I should have used a flat since it is leaner, but both were very good. Watch the full video to see the comparison. #2023ultimatebeeflovingtexan @TexasBeefCouncil @BeefForDinner source
I cut the backbone out of it to make it lay flatter and hopefully cook more evenly. I used SPG for the base rub and followed up with The BBQ Rub for some color. Took 3.5 hours to cook and I made some buffalo chicken dip out of the breast meat. Ate the rest of…

Nice kettle attachment Ry! I really enjoy cooking Santa Maria style! Tri Tip looked amazing!
Great video! I bought this same attachment after seeing your video. However, the assembly directions are very unclear. Are you aware of a video for attaching the gear lock and handle? I haven’t received any info from the company. Thanks!
I just got this for my 26” Weber kettle.
Why are these so insanely expensive, there is no motor or anything and it looks like only 5 or 6 welds why does this cost $300? It costs more than the bbq it goes on
Why would you be moving your lit bbq?
Disregard I figured it out. Yeah! 🙌
Good evening Ry, I also bought the Burn Shop Santa Maria attachment. After watching you I also had to have one. I have a question though did you have to cut or use a shorter nut? Mine when assembled, the long nut with washers installed properly ride against
Any thoughts on welding that? I assume they don't for shipping purposes and can be done clamped as you did.
Im always amazed how much punishment a chunk of beef can take from flames and very hot coals.
Brilliant idea but I wouldn't pay $300 – $525 for this option. And- how would you put a lid over what your cooking? Other than the lid thing and the price, I love it.
VERY cool addition to the kettle!
Nice demo
Hello Ry! I'm a subscriber and all but this video just popped up so I'm a little late to the convo but boy this is a cool thing and a cool company! Thank you. And just an FYI the reason this attachment is designed and named for the Santa Maria Style Tri Tip is because when the Pit Masters start the fire (after the overnight dry rub with secret recipe Santa Maria Blend) the wood of choice is Red Oak and since they are also typically feeding an event the grills are commercial size and the fire needs to start large and then last. So it's a lot of logs to start with and then, once the Red Oak starts to burn down to "cooking" embers the fire is still pretty hot but they have to put the meat on the grill to get the party started. So, as the cooking faze goes on and the fire matures they simply adjust the grate height to maintain the optimal distance from the heat. With this rig they can also easily raise the grate for fire "maintenance" while the meat is on the grill. Their grills are typically like 6'x4' or something so it's a big deal. If you ever get the chance go to an event catered by the Santa Maria Elks Tri Tip Team, drop your tongs and Go!!!! They are and always will be the Gold Standard and not just for Tri Trip but also for the time tested ability to flawlessly, efficiently and deliciously grill for 4000 people for lunch! Happy grilling!
Ry, I may be way off, but I was taught to always take the bark off before cooking. Am I off base?
How has this attachment held up wirh time??
I have 2 Santa Maria attachments from The Burn Shop. The PK300 and the PKGo. Love them both. Rock solid!
Really enjoy your videos!
That would be nice for a drum ( ugly drum )😉
Very nice!! 😍
Will that fit on the napoleon 22inch kettle???
Just a bit outside….. of alive 😂
Your videos are so relaxing. I watch at least one per evening, usually more. I've learned a lot from you also.
Can anyone share what is a good wood to burn with this style of grilling, TIA.
Santa maria grills are way bigger and are only $400 😂 this attachment is way too expensive.
Replacing my Gabby's with this one. My Gabby's worked for awhile before the side slots wouldn't hold the grate in and the spun-iron grate eventually warped. This grill looks like way higher quality.
Is the fire meant to touch the meat?
Way to expensive
Titan has one for 100 bucks
My Goodness, that’s more than I gave for my Weber Master Touch Premium from Costco. I guess I lucked out, mine closes tight as drum. I also did the spring hack on lid just for added precaution and put a gasket around top lid before I used it so it would be installed on a good clean surface. Thanks for the review.
Hello, what's your review like after 8 months of owning the attachment? Material used, cooking space, do you use it often etc…? I just purchased one after watching your video, so I'm excited for it to get here. 👍
1 Question …how do you store it? Is there a cover that works? I need one ..I also need it to be storable 😉
Kind of pricey. But do appreciate the mechanics around this piece
I don't think I would ever get one of these but they are definitely cool looking and I wouldn't knock anyone for getting one.
Very nice cook on that Tri Tip, Ry! Will you please share the link where you purchased the Santa Maria grill attachment?
Ry,, im going to get a new grill and setup. Any suggestions?
Where do you order these?
Great video and attachment review.
Cool accessory! It'd be sweet if they did one with a stainless grate.
