Beating them in a plastic bag not only makes a mess but you are losing Natural Garlic Oil or some might say Flavor!
Dealing with a smelly Ziploc afterwards is a huge downside 😅
I prefer the Silicone Garlic Peeler Tube.
B method is for people who have anger issues. 😂
Just do what i do and take forever trying to take the peel off with your fingers and chopping of the ends of each individual clove and then look up and see that its midnight now and then give up. Its a tried and true method in my kitchen!
I have one strong feeling in response to this video: we should call it “shucking” garlic and not “peeling”
my mom would put on a kdrama and enlist my siblings and i whenever she would make kimchi. sticky, garlicky fingers were the norm haha
I would think that if you just gave them a slight little smash and put them in the bag That should be enough to make everything come loose and yet still have solid garlic cloves
They don't come out completely clean with the shake method though. I simply twist the ends of cloves one by one and the skin snaps right off.
Kitchenaid with pedal attachment works too.
That jar was way too full. With the bag method you get skins mixed in with all of that garlic.
It's best to start by cutting off the top and bottom of the head and stick the head in a large jar and shake without even separating the cloves. Works every time.
A problem with the second method, that they didn't show, is that now your bag is full of a mixed mess of both garlic and garlic skins. Good luck separating them lmao
Wouldn't the paper stick to the smashed cloves? That doesn't seem like "a great way to go" 🤔
"Let's put it to the test," instead of "Let's find out," would have been on brand. Just saying.
I'll have to try these out.
Waste of a bag, just use your knife on the cutting board
how bout just buy them peeled lol
Soak the cloves in water for a few minutes and the peel practically falls off. In my experience the water doesn't need to be hot either.
Few seconds in the micro
Think that I'll try the jar method.
Afterwards you can fill the jar with the cloves for storage.
One other method works well for smaller quantities – a thin-walled plastic tubing that I've found on Amazon. You place unpeeled cloves in the tube and roll it with your palms on a counter. The cloves come out completely clean.
5 seconds in the microwave works well
I swear by the trick of buying a variety of garlic called “peeled”.
Make sure you cut the fibrous bottoms off the garlic cloves before you do either method, otherwise you'll be encountering them, unpleasantly, in the food. Don't ask me how I know. 😅❤
For the shake method, the jar was too full to begin with – need more space for collisions to happen. Also, if you don't have a mason jar, just use two identical bowls (mixing, cereal, etc., as long as they are sturdy), hold them together tightly, and shake – I actually prefer this method.
I tried the jar method a couple weeks ago. It didn't work so well for me. I'll try the zip lock technique but if that isn't to my satisfaction I'll go with the hot water soak method I've just learned about in the comments.
I use hot water and just soak it for a half hour in advance. The garlic is hydrophobic so it stays dry while the skins just fall off
I just use hot water
30 is too many for that jar but ok…
You are join my side ❤️❤️❤️
Looks yummy 🤤😋
