  1. Franklin BBQ is notoriously expensive and overrated!
Waiting on a long ass endless cue for several hours just to eat some overpriced average brisket that isn't anything special simply isn't worth my time nor money!!

  2. I find it really really interesting that Aaron says avoid fat here due to the smoke profile not going well with added fat on the skin. I’ve heard of the “mayo” trick people say to use on Turkey to make the skin delicious but not a good idea when smoking? But why does fat not cause issues with brisket ? The fat cap is the most delicious part of brisket. Maybe just Turkey is too different ?

  3. Thanks for inspiring me to get into smoked meats. Now I run a small online business serving smoked dishes. All thanks to your masterclass and youtube videos. As most have already said…the king is back. Sick of all these bbq youtubers spreading gimmicks and complex techniques for views

  4. @Aaron I was going to ask if you used salted or unsalted butter but I found an image of the butter blend that you're holding and it's Sun Glow European Butter Blend and the wrapper with green print is their unsalted version.
I've never seen the Sun Glow Brand where I live but at least I know you're using unsalted butter, I would imagine the butter will pick up some salt flavor from the salt on the turkey.
I like to soak the turkey in buttermilk for 12 hours then wash off all the buttermilk before smoking or roasting, I use an extra big zip top bag and a half gallon of buttermilk then put it in a cooler with ice breast side down.
It's good to see you making videos again, I hope you keep making more.
