@BoldFace asked: “Which type of pie plate do you prefer: glass, metal or clay?”

No editing, no fancy lighting—just straight answers.

The test cooks at America’s Test Kitchen answer your cooking questions straight from the test kitchen. We bring our laptop to the kitchen, turn on the webcam, and hit record.

To ask a question, tweet us @TestKitchen or ask us on Facebook:

Due to the high volume of questions, we are not able to answer every single one. We try our best, but the test cooks have to get back to testing recipes!

America’s Test Kitchen is a real 2,500 square foot test kitchen located just outside of Boston that is home to more than three dozen full-time cooks and product testers. Our mission is simple: to develop the absolute best recipes for all of your favorite foods. To do this, we test each recipe 30, 40, sometimes as many as 70 times, until we arrive at the combination of ingredients, technique, temperature, cooking time, and equipment that yields the best, most-foolproof recipe.

  1. Useless video. I didn't see you test anything or even show an example. I'm supposed to take your advice just because you said to? Don't waste my time. (I've seen other videos showing how to get good results with the cheap disposables)

  2. I just watched a video presented by Dan Souza today (07/30/2014) and I must say that Dan came a long way. In this video he is like a young hippie-ish talking 'cheffy dude', where as the latest video (Science: Cooking Frozen Steaks), he is more……… a Chef. Either way, it made me giggle a little, because he is a cool as heck and! Yes, I love that his glasses may be different, but they are EXACTLY the same style. Love the videos! Keep up the great work, ATK! And shout out to Dan! 😉
