Everything as I would have done except no salad with the real burger. Very hard to compare the two like that imho.
I’m not a huge fan of smashed because here in Perth it’s always just meat & cheese, rarely with salad.
My favourite would be the burger exactly as you prepared and cooked it but with the inclusion of salad

That temp is perfect! Rare-ish is waaay overrated on a burger. It's like, fall off the bone, or bite. Bite is always better.

I know this is an old vid mate but where do you get that smash tool from? and also the scraper? is it just a paint scraper? I went into two bbq places the other week looking for a scraper like that and they both said they had never seen one and it was probably just a paint scraper…

My favorite is a double smash burger with caramelized onion, jalapenos, and bacon. Order it almost every single time.
