I always cook the whole package of bacon at once. That way I have cooked bacon for a BLT, bacon bits for my Spinach Salad, bacon for a quick breakfast sandwich. All without additional mess. Cook it once and have multiple uses all without needing to fry or bake additional bacon
Freezing Tip for pizza (any size) Redistribute topping as necessary and cut pizza into quarters/eigths/whatever portion size desired. Then freeze as individually bagged slices!
Then you're dealing with bacon that needs to be defrosted to unroll. Instead use parchment paper in between each slice and store in a gallon ziplock bag. It's what I do. You can quickly cook as many slices as you need.
I'll have to give this a try. My technique is to put individual slices of bacon in between parchment paper, kind of "accordion style", and then put in a Ziploc bag and freeze it. Easy to separate one or two slices. I reuse the Ziploc bag, but not the parchment paper.
You can also take the rock solid frozen unopened package of bacon (a cured meat) and thaw it in a dish filled with hot water. Takes about 10 minutes and your bacon is thawed. Cool the entire package however you want and refrigerate the leftovers – which will keep in the fridge for about a week. Great for adding to salad, making a sandwich, or adding to scrambled eggs.
Your passion for cooking always inspires. Waiting for your recipes on the khal.

The exact amount of bacon I need is always 1 package though? Doesn't even matter what it weighs.
Wow, no brainer, who knew🤷♀️ now I can enjoy my BLT anytime
Dumb, then you have to let it thaw that way
I just cook it all at once, put slices in a container and microwave in a paper towel for 30 secs for a few slices. Done

We go through bacon 🥓 constantly, so this is probably good for singles/couples.
Not a bad idea. Bacon is a Sunday Morning thing so I defrost it on Saturday. Or go pick it up fresh from the butcher
GENIUS!!!!!!
Roll up .. I see.

Takes up too much freezer space that way. You can always find enough space to slide a flat pack in
I’ve always frozen it like that
on second thought lets not go to ATK, tis a silly place.
That's a great idea not going to lie but if I'm doing bacon I'm going to eat the whole pound so it doesn't apply to me but good idea 🤣🤣🤣
What if I'm not a psychotic person that cooks my bacon without thawing it first?
I'm not a bacon eater by itself so I always chop and cook and use in things. It defrosts enough to start cooking quickly. Starts softening within 5.
The parchment paper method some people are talking about is infinitely better. Much faster and will thaw much more quickly.
So when you grab the frozen bacon, it's all rolled up. Any way to make it flat quicker than just waiting for it to defrost?
I love it. Great point.
how the hell do u cook it from a roll up ? i gotta wait for it to thaw ? oh hell nah.
I have been doing this for years. It's wonderful. Learned it from ATK
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing this with us! 💜🥓
The exact amount of bacon I need is always at LEAST one full package…

Lightbulb 💡 moment…and how long is bacon good for in the freezer???
Very Interesting, But "STUPID “
But seriously not a bad idea !!!
What!! This is awesome!!! and here I was using wax papers and what not to separate while freezing….
I cut my lb of bacon, into 4 ,that’s plenty of bacon, for one person
I learned to do this when I was selling Tupperware ages ago!
I’ve done this for years.
I preserve my bacon by not forgetting the wife’s birthday and our anniversary.

Ours comes pre-frozen. If thawed in the fridge (not counter or water) it can be separated & refrozen.
