Dean N. asked us on Facebook: “How should I wash leafy vegetables? I usually put them in a bowl of water with kosher salt, but does that actually do anything? Am I wasting salt?”
The test cooks at America’s Test Kitchen answer your cooking questions straight from the test kitchen.
To ask a question, tweet us @TestKitchen or ask us on Facebook:
Due to the high volume of questions, we are not able to answer every single one. We try our best, but the test cooks have to get back to testing recipes!
America’s Test Kitchen is a real 2,500 square foot test kitchen located just outside of Boston that is home to more than three dozen full-time cooks and product testers. Our mission is simple: to develop the absolute best recipes for all of your favorite foods. To do this, we test each recipe 30, 40, sometimes as many as 70 times, until we arrive at the combination of ingredients, technique, temperature, cooking time, and equipment that yields the best, most-foolproof recipe.
