My kids loved Benihana’s fried rice so much, I had to make it at home 😋 and it turned out amazing! The perfect side dish that everyone will love! 🥰 I’m serving it with some Black Pepper Chicken (let me know if you want that recipe too, just comment “chicken recipe” below!)

FRIED RICE INGREDIENTS:
For the soy sauce:
► 1/2 cup of butter
► 1 tbsp soy sauce
► 3 grated garlic cloves
For the fried rice:
► Some sesame oil
► 1/2 white onion
► 1 carrot
► 4 green onion
► 3 minced garlic cloves
► 2 cups of day old rice
► 2 eggs
► 1/4 tsp white pepper
► 1/4 tsp sugar
► 1/4 tsp salt
► 1 tsp soy sauce
► More green onion

  1. I have never heard of butter in any fried rice. My best friend growing up was Chinese and her dad was a chef in a a fast food Chinese restaurant and then a chef in a nicer Chinese restaurant. Chinese people do not use butter. Most are lactose intolerant. I also lived in Korea for almost 4 years. Their fried rice also has no butter.. I've also been to Japan, China, and Hong Kong, and their version of fried rice also has no butter. They use any vegetable oil. Sesame seed oil is meant to be used in a small drizzle not to fry the eggs and the rice it had a strong overpowering taste. You just need plain vegetable oil. I bet it tastes very little like the real thing, and that would be why.
