Salt should always be measured by weight, and since you have a scale already out, I don't know why you didn't do this. I tend to use sea salt (from Mexico), and it is somewhere between Kosher salt and table salt in grain size. When measuring by weight, I can be sure I am using the right amount. I use a jewelry scale for measuring small amounts, like salt and yeast.
