Instead of cornstarch slurry and heavy cream, try using evaporated milk. Also I’d replace the pasta with risotto.

Keep learning how to cook. You don’t need cornstarch in this. Reduce the cream down by cooking it more. Add pasta water if needed, It has starch in it.
