I use old vegan brioche and a mix of oat milk and banana blended in a blender with cinnamon. Dip and fry 💋🤌
Just Egg and nut milk makes good FT
Don’t Bond villains pet cats menacingly?
Ketchup
My mom always made savory French toast and quite honestly that is what I prefer.
challah!
There is a savory russian version of french toast that is great if you are not into sweet breakfast foods. Strongly recommend. It works on any crusty bread.
Vegan french toast doesn't need an expensive egg substitute. Flax meal or a "flax egg" works great and is really tasty.
Holy crap! At 2:13 in, he's talking about *me!* Only, it isn't, "'Erné Webber," it's pronounced "Hurn." But whatever! I'm stoked! That was my question and post!
P.S. I have made many things with my Just Egg, so far, and it is amazing. The best things have been to microwave it, rather than trying to fry it, as it sucks up oil. I've made Chao cheese, Just Egg and LightLife Smart Bacon sandwiches, with lettuce, vine ripe Grainger County, TN, tomatoes, and Hellmann's Vegan mayo, but for French Toast, I haven't done that yet. I've used soy milk for this in the past, and it was good, but I'm waiting to try this product for some time I'm really wanting a treat. I have real maple syrup in the fridge, and Myoko's cultured Vegan butter. I just need the best bread. I make my own sourdough, with a rainwater culture from two years ago. Time to get busy!
You would think vegans would be too tough and dry to make good French toast, but maybe if they're sliced across the grain, it works.
In short, multi-grain and whole grain breads are not used as often for French toast because the custard is defeated as a custard in a grainy matrix. Grainy breads have their place, to be sure, but a custard is a smooth and creamy thing, which is the appeal for many for French toast.
I cannot believe challah wasn’t the #1 most used bread for French toast.
I've used garbonzo bean juice in place of egg and that is always a hit with my vegan friend.
how about nutmeg for the French toast
Day-old cinnamon bagels sound like a good wintery treat to me now. And I am wondering why there aren't pannetone-style bagels.
Darker bread might go well with chocolate French toast or even a splash of darker beer…:) And now I am thinking about savoury Flammkuchen French toast and Galette French Toast…Too many ideas! 😄🙈
Awesome! I never at sugar to the mixture, I thimk it's overrated. Although, I have infused milk with Chai spices, plus adding some of them dry, turns out great! In my experience whole grain bread makes a weird texture, that's all. Although, I've tried Bimbo bread with whole flaxseed grains, and it turns peculiarly good!
Hi Dan!!!!!
Vegan is 🐂💩.
The "ketchup" is a reference to the 3 levels of cooking videos where the level 1 named Emily has ketchup with her french toast!
That at comment is really mean to the guys that are very allergic to them.

I missed the french toast video, but I use leftover pancakes for my bread sometimes.
I never considered savory French toast, but I may have to try it!
They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think whether they should.
