For perfect rice when you have sauteed spices put water double the amount of rice and let it boil add your soaked rice in boiling water and let it cook on high till you see bubbling then lower the heat and let it cool till you see water evaporates then put the lid on turn heat to very low and let the rice steam for 5 mims then open the lids and mix with light hand. You will have perfectly cooked rice with long grains intact and separate from each other
