Coca-Cola Sticky Pork Belly Recipe (Chinese Style Cooking Recipe)
Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes.
Ingredients:
500g Belly Pork
1 Litre Cola
2 Spring Onions
10g Ginger
3 Bay Leaves
1 Star Anise
1 Tsp Soy Sauce
Salt to Taste
Method:
1. Slice ginger and roughly chop spring onions
2. Cut belly pork into bite-size pieces
3. Place pork into a saucepan and add 500ml cold water
4. Boil pork for 5 minutes, then remove and drain
5. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a wok
6. Add the & fry for 5 minutes until golden
7. Add spring onion, ginger, bay leaves, star anise and soy sauce. Fry for 5 minutes
8. Add the cola & salt then bring to the boil
9. Turn heat to low, cover the wok and cook for about an hour till meat is tender
10. Turn heat to high, continue to cook till the liquid is almost gone
11. Transfer onto a dish, garnish and serve
