  1. OMG! My father used to call this dish, Angleworms on Toast. He would tell us some story he read in "The Book of Knowledge" that had something to do, in some way, with angleworms. Though we knew the outcome of the story, Dad's ending had little to do with the 'real' story and more to do with the dinner on our plates. At the right moment, he would get to the angleworms part of the story and have us roaring with laughter while trying to make us believe that Mom had served us angleworms on toast and wasn't it delicious?

  2. So tired of videos that want you to " read below for amounts ".
You do realize people watch YouTube on their tv, right?
There is no "below" so the video is useless. Made the extra effort and called up your video on my phone just to let you know this. As soon as someone says "see below" , that video gets a thumbs down and I move to the next video. YouTube is for watching, not reading or clicking a link.

  3. Subscribed to your channel! I'm going to the store right now to get the chopped beef to make SOS for breakfast. My son has never had it. I had it in school cafeteria back in the 60s occasionally…loved it too!
p.s. I've been told if you soak the chopped beef in water a minute or so that it helps get some of the saltiness out for anyone watching their sodium intake.

  4. Funny how so many people say they haven't had this since they were a kid. I think a lot of these "kids" had fathers or grandfathers that were WW2 and Korea vets that were introduced to SOS in the military and then made it for their families years later. I know that's how I was introduced to it.

  5. I learned a long time ago the secret to making good chipped beef, but I wanted to watch your video to see if you knew the secret ingredient, to making it good,  and glad to say you did it right by adding the worchestire sauce. that's the clue to making it good, also I found a place at a farmers market that sells smoked dried beef, and that makes a difference also. its much better smoked, and its cheaper at the farm market also. nice video, thanks

  6. Had it in the Army, had it as a kid and when just starting out with the family on a strict budget. Your video made me miss it so I purchased Armour dried beef in a jar. Holy moly when did this stuff become gourmet food based on the price. It came out to almost $18 a pound when I figured the price per ounce. But it sure was tasty. Love your videos!

  7. Beautiful cooking Tess! I was planning on making some of this this coming weekend….haven't made it in so long. Yours looked so beefy delicious, yum! Gotta have it over toast with eggs 🙂 Thanks for sharing, thumbs up for sure.
