Ingredients:
For the Fish:
– 800g fish fillet (salted and washed)
For the Masala:
– ½ tsp masala salt
– ¼ tsp red chili flakes
– ½ tsp red pepper
– ½ tsp dried coriander
For the Coating:
– 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
– 1 tbsp cornflour
– ¼ tsp paprika powder
– ¼ tsp black pepper
– ¼ tsp salt
– 1 tbsp lemon juice
– 1 egg
– Breadcrumbs (as needed)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Masala Paste:
– Take a bowl and add the masala ingredients (masala salt, red chili flakes, red pepper, dried coriander) along with the coating ingredients (all-purpose flour, cornflour, paprika powder, black pepper, salt, lemon juice, and egg).
– Mix everything well until you get a smooth and consistent paste.
2. Coat the Fish Fillets:
– Take the fish fillets and apply the masala paste evenly to all sides of the slices. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
– After applying the paste, coat each fish fillet with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they stick well.
3. Deep Fry the Fish:
– Heat oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer.
– Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets into the oil. Cover the lid and fry on a medium flame.
– Fry the fish until it is golden brown and cooked through. You can check if the fish is fully cooked by inserting a knife into the thickest part of the fillet; if it comes out clean, the fish is done.
4. Serve:
– Remove the fried fish fillets from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
