One of the worst reviewed recipes on ATK is oyster sauce, because it's not a DIY sauce, it's just an enhancement recipe. I'd love to see Hunger Pangs discuss homemade oyster, Hoisin, and other staple sauces, and possibly versions with low-calorie sugar substitutes. Please??
Oh no! P.F Chang's food is not good at all just like the greasy Chinese take outs here…. P.F. is either too salty, too spicy, or too overly sweet, and some of the foods in a sauce just has way too much sauce. For frozen Asian foods, I prefer Trader Joes' frozen foods, plus the different flavors of frozen fried rice at Trader Joes are also just as delicious alone. But I like adding in some fresh lightly sauted veggies, or ginger in the rice, and have that delicious orange chicken on the side🤤. For a different meal, I add in fresh shrimp, fish or fried tofu topped with a bit of oyster sauce, or toasted sesame oil for a complete meal. Try their frozen fried rice, and their tasty spring rolls, plus pot stickers, you might like them all…🙂
Mr. J. Pang you are awesome 🤩
One of the BEST things I have seen on YouTube!! I was amazed to see this is an ATK production. WHY OH WHY OH WHY do we NOT see this fine offering on Regular Television production of ATK or Cooks Country. This Pair is FAR and away better than ANY of the current "regulars' on ATK or Cook's Country! Toooooo BAD they are ATK's best kept Secret! Would LOVE to see a cook book by this Duo!

These are such great videos. And darn it, they always make me hungry!
PF Changs should really think again about their frozen products. Have tried several, including these 2, and everything is AWFUL! Try Tai Pei brand pork dumplings- AWESOME!!!
Having tasted all of the above and more, the Trader Joe’s mandarin orange is pretty good. But between XCJ vs Fly By Jing soup dumplings, XCJ wins. So I typically order XCJ soup dumplings instead.
Thank you for your honest reviews: I, too, find PF Chang products and their restaurant food far too salty which to me means they are substituting salt for quality ingredients. Thank you for introducing me to "Fly by Jing" products – I'll try to find them here.
Trader Joe's has a pretty good soup dumpling too.
Not good to watch before dinner… I’m getting hunger pangs
Those egg roles look different between the 2.
Fungus? No thanks.
the TJ's chicken sauce needs soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar and garlic added to it.
too sweet otherwise.
I'm surprised to learn that xiaolongbao are even possible as a frozen food item. Given the tendency for frozen dumplings to stick together and then break each other apart during separation, and given the importance of a leak-free exterior for this dish, it seems like a feat of engineering. The point about the thicker dough sounds right. It's probably a little bit of insurance against breakage if they stick together.
I was fortunate to enjoy xiaolongbao with nice thin dough at one of the cafeterias at Peking University.
👍👍
Could we get a Dan Dan noodle recipe?
Tried TJs mandarine chicken. I'm kinda on the fence tbh
We’ve been through many, many brands of frozen egg rolls, most are awful, a few acceptable. But we finally found a good one. Van’s (formerly Confucius) chicken egg rolls are great. Used to be able to get them frozen at Walmart, now only refrigerated at Walmart (and Publix in the south).
Stick with the chicken, the pork ones have a funny taste, even though I normally like pork.
Love Hunger Pangs!
Agreed on the Orange Chicken from TJs – its in the freezer for those nights where cooking is just not going to happen. The TJs Kung Pao chicken is also worth keeping for emergencies.
You need a lavalier mic.
I really like the Trader Joe’s orange chicken. I also like that it has 2 sauce packets, so you can do just half a package at a time. I’d avoid their honey walnut shrimp, though (or at least use the sauce quite sparingly).
This is my first video. Your father is a treasure!
I will accept all his opinions as fact!❤
