  1. For the Besan mixture

    2 & 1/2 cup Besan
    3 tbsp Milk
    4 tbsp Ghee

    1/4 cup Milk to be added to hot besan
    1/4 cup Khoya

    1 cup Ghee
    1 tbsp Elaichi Powder
    Mace is also put but I am not a fan

    For Chashni
    1 cup + 1/4 cup Sugar
    1/2 cup Water (for chashni)
    Kesar mixed in water

    – The besan needs to be roasted really well. This is an important step. It will become reddish
    – Add Khoya & Milk & cook it until all the milk & khoya is Absorbed. Cool this mixture properly
    – The chashni has to be ek taar , if it is not, your mohanthal will not set
    – It will take a few hours to cool properly
    – For cutting neatly, you can place in the fridge for 10 mins before cutting
    – Store in the fridge or consume within 2 days

Basically milk and ghee isliye add krte h taki besan ka texture thoda mota besan jaise ho jaye usse laddoo ya barfi danedar bnti h and besan sticky nhi lgta..agar ap mota besan already use krte ho then no need to add ghee and milk. Because when u prepared barf ghee aur milk toh already barf mein jayega
