I eat the whole thing, are you supposed to cut the ends of lol? 😂
I have never even heard of snapping asparagus.
Thank you, great tip. Will definitely use it👍👍❤️
That doesn't look like 50%
Is this for real cause I have been cutting off about an inch at the bottom. Ever since I started cooking 40 years ago
I like smelling my pee after eating asparagus. It's the only reason I buy it.
You're Job was snapping asparagus??
Seriously, were your parents millionaires?
Our job was husking corn.
Thanks. This is helpful.
Snapping was safe for us little kids to do. It eliminated the stringy pithy purplish ends.
But snapping is fun. Lol and I’m not about to check every end and then peel it.
😮😢🫣🫢😔
I agree in principle; I treat asparagus like cut flowers, trim the ends and place them in water in the fridge (with a plastic bag covering the tops) just like herbs but, gotta say, I do love that snapping sound…so satisfying!
I have never ever ever snapped the ends off!!!! I’m 77 years young and my family come from the old country we were taught very young “ waste not want not”❤
why don't we just treat it like meat and leave it on there, then just "cut away the fat" afterwards
Thank you, we eat a lot of asparagus and I always snapped!
🍭This man represents the Lollipop Guild 🍭
I'd rather waste of the asparagus than my time pulling out a knife and a peeler and then having to clean said things when I could just snap them and be done
I can’t believe you guys are even talking about something so simple as this…
But…I LOVE to Snap!!! – it just feels so satisfying, and brings back memories of helping my mom in the kitchen. Thanks for the good info, I might just use the ends in a stock so they don't go to waste.
If you hold at tip and at the cut end and then snap like that the asparagus will snap at proper place with no loss. Learned that from my Father, an old farmer
Love it❤
I never snap my 30lbs of harvested asparagus a week. A well sharpened utility knife will almost fall through the spears at the correct spot. If you have to peel after that, you need to sharpen your knife.
The bottom is used for delicious chowder
Sorry but its woody in th3 center still th3 snap is gentle bending at the very end and try to goback and tes5 the snapped off piece and it is woody tough and inedible
