I think you're missing the wonton strips. It needs the crunch to be an egg roll in a bowl. This is more like an Asian-style cabbage roll in a bowl.

No. Chinese egg rolls require pork or chicken. And the reason why you don’t use coleslaw is because they’re not gonna use Chinese celery, a key flavor component of an egg roll. Not to mention that it has mayonnaise which is not used in egg rolls.

Egg rolls aka Loempia or Lumpia are made with chicken, shrimp, bean sprouts, cabbage, fresh garlic and other ingredients. We're Indonesian (great great Oma's recipe) and ground beef is a HECK NO!!!!
