A 12-inch skillet should last a lifetime and cook almost anything. But does quality construction have to cost top dollar?

  1. I love my AllClad skillet…except for the handle. I find the handle just a bit narrow and ‘twisty’ in my hand. I have two cuisinart ‘clad’ skillets which work very well and have way better handles than the AllClad skillet. Always surprises me when ATK complements the handle of the AllClad…

  2. Why do your tests never review Demeyere or Fissler? Demeyere has the best fully clad frying pan made, and Fissler has an enormously thick disk bottom design that works superbly well on induction. These reviews feel artificial when you do not include the best products in the category.

  3. In Britain, a skillet is an old-fashioned type of cooking pot with legs. Experts think the word comes from the Middle French esculette, "a little dish," from the Latin root scutella, "serving platter." Very funny that Americans use an archaic word that is NOT used anywhere else in the world to describe a FRYING PAN . Too funny……

  4. Everyone, just save up for a while (make your own coffee, don't go to the movies for a bit, don't eat out, no Netflix sub for a year 😅 etc.) and just buy All-clad.

If cast iron pans gets passed down from generation to generation, so will be All-clad pans. Go for high quality and never by another one again! Love our All-clad sets!

  5. I have used the All-Clad D3 frying pans a few times only to have the stainless still tarnish deep into the steel. It will stick and burn most anything I try to cook. I have used all the precautions you are suppose to use for stainless still from the very beginning. I have sent them in for warranty and it took them over a month and a half to decide there was nothing they could do for me and then sent them back. Don't waste your money, nothing special there. There website says the handles are made in china.

  6. We are a large household and we cook almost every day and Indian food is high temp cooking with lot of sautéing and simmering curries to finish off. All-clad was a no brainer for us. Its top quality and we use them a lot. Worthy buy.
