  1. So does the tension arm with the stopper rubber allow you to unroll with one hand or does it hang up? I hate when they don't show it in use. I prefer to not hog up my counter space. I'm an under the counter towel holder person. The old fashion metal ones that have tension, not the plastic crappy ones. Little secret….if you do it right, you can tear it with a jerk of one hand. It takes practice but I'm sure someone with a college degree can figure it out.

  2. I bought the recommended paper towel holder. The resistance arm loosened and eventually broke off at the hinged connection at the base of the paper towel holder after about 6 months. The hinged connection is made of cheap plastic which does not stand the test of time. I recommend not waisting your money on this product.

  3. M-M-M-M-M….? WHAT I DIDN'T SEE HIM DO FOR THE LAST HOLDER HE DIDN'T TEAR A PIECE OF PAPER TOWEL FROM THE HOLDER. WHY HE DIDN'T DO THAT MAKES YOU WONDER UHHHHHHH…? IS IT REALLY THE BEST ONE OR NOT…?

  4. ANY TIPS for using the winner? Its not as easy as they say. Dont always get a one-handrd tear. Wondering if placing the tension arm at a certain position (as a right hander) for example….Its been inconsistent for me. THX

  5. I agree BUT does anyone remember when they had practically free plastic holders that screwed into and hung under the cabinet? Where did they go? Ive loved the winning one for years but its 25x what the cost would be if they still made the plastic one, does NOT do as good a job, and is constantly building up layers of paper dust on the base thats one more job i dont need.

  6. Well I think $20+ is too much for a paper towel holder… until I inevitably spill something, try to grab several paper towels and end up slinging the metal piece of junk I wasted $8 on across the kitchen! Buy once cry once! Thanks

  7. No one:
America's Test Kitchen: So we got the top 27 towel hanging hooks and hung 500 towels each on them for one month straight.

ATK: We hired 600 actors and gave each of them complex back stories and deep, rich family lives that involved hanging not only towels, but aprons, pants, and in one situation, even the hide of a full-grown adult grizzly bear.
Me: Actually nvm my current towel hanging hook works fine idk if I really support this anym-
ATK: After thorough testing and 47 deaths, we found that the Oxxo Good Grips towel hanging hook stood up to every kitchen challenge and even a few violent non-kitchen hardships by our testers. Only 2 people died within the year that it was tested and at $9.99 for a set of two it's an absolute bargain!

  8. A shame you don't provide in the details all the models reviewed and rank then. Perhaps not important on towel roll holder but for blenders, etc. Maybe there are features we don't care about? Maybe the 2nd best is a better value. Virtually all the reviews just pan across the contenders, then you just focus on the Tr top pick.

  9. I bought the one they recommend. It does exactly what they described. I have one issue with it that makes me not like it. Maybe it's just me. The flat wide base which is what's makes it stable so you can tear pieces off with one hand is a paper towel dust, water, and anything else that people have on their hands when reaching for the towel….collector. As soon as the roll begins to get smaller that wide base gets mucky. I'm constantly wiping it off. It's like my new hobby. Of course you can just leave it all sitting there but remember the bottom of the roll is sitting in and absorbing that muck. Gross. Apparently I have way too much time on my hands.
