The uses for a toaster oven go way beyond making toast. A good toaster oven functions as a small second oven, and can even take the place of your big oven—it can handle a 4-pound chicken or bake potatoes or a batch of cookies, and it preheats faster, uses less energy, and is easy to clean.

Toaster oven should be renamed "Countertop Oven!" I've been using one of these for the last 15 years. I rarely use a normal oven, only for large things, but now that I have a new very large Oster ct oven, I never use a full sized oven anymore. 🎂
I bought the Breville a couple years ago. The control buttons started to rebel just after the (pretty short) warranty expired. Soooo disappointed.
"Flexuhbilidy" is not a word.
"Comfterbly" is not a word.
The 2022 review on Toaster Ovens sound exactly the same as this one. Both reviews state Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven is still their favorite. Yet there are so many complaints on Breville website on this product.
I just bought a top end Breville Toaster Oven you recommended and I’m astounded that you didn’t mention that the metal an inch away from the handle gets hot enough to give second degree burns. When you grab the handle, your fingers are less than a quarter inch away from that surface. I checked the temperature of that area and it exceeded 140 degrees in many spots which is hot enough for second degree burns.. Despite it working perfectly, we will return it.
Yeah be very careful with the Breville toaster oven there's reviews on Amazon and other sites that the glass cracks all over the place
Hi Lisa and Hannah: here is a suggestion for review: Combination microwave ovens, PLEASE !!!
Dose anyone know how long the toaster over will take to toast a bagel or slice of toast?
I just got this Toaster oven and the exterior get burning hot and concerned. I jusy touch above the door and my finger & thumb is pained ??? Is this normal.
Thank you anyone for your help !
In my experience, Toaster ovens never deliver and they take up a huge footprint on the counter. Bought an ATK recommended one a few years ago, but it still disappointed and ended up being the 2nd toaster oven donated to Good Will. No more for me.
Get the Breville if you want to buy a new toaster every 3-5 years.
Well done presentation
Nope. Don't do it — don't get the Breville. I bought this toaster 3 years ago and it would only toast on one side. I even returned it and got another one, thinking I had a lemon. Still only toasted on one side. I was too lazy to go through another return and stupidly keep the damn thing. Well only 3 years later it gave up the ghost and stopped heating at all. Looking at solutions online it appears to be a fuse issue ( a very cheap and stupid thing Breville did ) but I don't have the patience or skill to fix it myself. Reading the other reviews it seems like current models are junk. I'll never buy Breville again and I am honestly starting to wonder about ATK's impartiality. I see a lot of Breville on their channel. 😒
Well… it’s nice that everyone from the Breville Fan Club has come on here to tell us that they own the #1 rated toaster oven (as declared by AKT), but I’m really curious about where all the other ovens stand in comparison. Since they tested multiple ovens, how do they ALL compare with one another. This seems more like an infomercial for Breville than an actual review- especially since no other oven is mentioned by name.
Hi I own the Australian version of the Breville smart oven. Please note: the Australian vs The USA Version are VERY different. US version is Bigger and wider where ours I would class as a mini. What comes included is also varied: US- more accessories Which Australian version does not get. So for anyone Buying this oven Make sure that the SK numbers Match what you expect, otherwise you will be disappointed since the US version has two extra Built in functions that we dont.
Functionality: It does the Job BUT when it comes to space, this things cramped, if you want to do bread, there is Not enough room for a tall loaf. Having owned this oven now since my old sunbeam quick start oven 22L broke down after years of good service and Far More spacious then the breville will ever be.
Cleaning:
Breville with the element protectors is a serious Pain, you have to constantly be aware to not dirty those on the way in and the way the drip tray is situated… VERY Poor design, after a time the draw will be popping out on its own not to mention there are Bits of food that are little taller they will get stuck in the low clearance.
Sunbeam:
No element protectors make life easy, the Internal drip tray is both spacious and easy to put in and remove, Additionally the door slide in and out of the way, when needed. Honestly I did see the sunbeam I had in your test the one that Burnt the toast and I dont think that was really a fair assessment since in so many ways it's a far superior product then the breville.
Summary : having had both and used both extensively… the Air fry function is NOT worth the Price of losing such a Huge amount of internal space. In the sunbeam a 33.5 cm baking pan slides straight in without the need for it to sit on a tray
Would I buy another breville if mine packs up? No.
Internal space is Far too important then having the air fry function.
You guys gotta review microwaves!
Would love to see the Zojirushi Micom tested in the mix as well.
Thoughts, opinions on the smart oven mini ?
Breville makes so many models, it would be great to know which you actually tested. Thanks for the great review
I want a longer video with more detail about all the ovens tested. I’m wondering if a Ninja was tested? Otherwise amazing video!

You guys are my go to reviewers! Great job. I'd love to know what your thoughts are on the Breville mini – yes, I know… no convection… no biggie. I have an airfry range 🙂
Very helpful and no nonsense. Thank you.
I wonder if COSORI was compared.
Since I watched this the first time, I have read a lot of reviews on this oven. Lots of people are very unhappy that the Breville oven has broken down and had to trash it after a year or so. Now, I don't know what to buy since my old toaster oven that I had for 15 yrs finally died. It was a Hamiliton Beach with concpvection that cooked beautifully. But, that model is no longer made. Since this review is only a couple years old I would have purchased this oven. But, the recpviews by actual buyers aren't so good.
Krups oven rated poorly on Consumer Reports
Whole chicken? Use a regular over for gosh sakes…
I bought a large wolf toaster oven last year and I'm loving it! I even roasted my 6 lb rib roast in it for Christmas this year!!
Excellent video because you share your rationale. I won't get the top pick (nonstick kills pet birds) but the video informed me greatly.
Can a toaster oven serve as a microwave? 😢
What a crappy video. Which ovens were good and bad at what? This isn't a review at all! It's not even helpful.
Lots of reviews about the winner dying right after the warranty is up. Any updates on the winner's stamina?
Hi can you make a new one this is two years old can you make it 2021
Wonder if other ones by the same company are good as well
From what I've noticed you get a lot more freedom with cooking in an oven (and also it's healthier) than you do in a microwave even though microwaves are faster and also heat the food from the inside out, maybe I'll get a microwave oven so that it's both. But the foods for a toaster oven look a lot better and are more variety in my opinion
270 dollars for a toaster oven? Are you crazy?
Love the review, but the other ovens that performed well were not mentioned. I would love to know if you had a best buy.
