I use it to make a "ghetto latte", a cup of hot milk and 1-3 tsp of espresso powder, I figure 1 tsp is about a "shot".
atk is the best
So true, espresso does really bring out the chocolate flavor. I've been baking for years and use CocoaX. It's the only cocoa + espresso blend I could find and it's amazing, they have already done the blending ratio so I just use it 1 to 1 and there's zero guess work. Also organic too which I like.. Great video!
Great tip to remember
I have a commercial espresso machine, so I just use espresso lol.
I see that corridor merch, let's go bro
To me adding espresso powder to anything makes it taste just burnt, not more chocolate. The bitter flavor some may taste as deeper chocolate, but I always interpret it as a burnt taste.
I’m curious – we’re all the products instant espresso, that is, powder to be diluted in hot water to make a quick cup of coffee, or were some actually the finely ground coffee beans, intended for a coffee machine or moka pot?
I guess chocolate doesn’t have enough poisonous caffeine. 🥴
@corridordigital Merch on the first taste tester! ^^v
If it's awesome in a brownie, it's got to be good in a chocolate cake, too, I should think
These videos really help me out. I love to cook and bake, did not grow up with anyone around me cooking so I did not develop any skills. Now I am working on cooking more so that I get better. Your videos are exactly what is needed. Thank you Jack
I wonder if the espresso powder would work in hot chocolate to make it more chocolatey tasting?
now do a segment on WHY
I always seem to notice the coffee taste. I don't know why. I'd really like a stronger chocolate taste but I don't get that without the coffee. 🙁
What about using turkish coffee? It's the finest grind of coffee 🙂
About a year ago, my daughter bought King Arthur Espresso Powder and used it when she made brownies. Since I don't like coffee or drink it, I wasn't eager to taste the finished product but I was happy I did. The chocolate flavor was intense. Absolutely delicious. Since that time, I've used the powder when I make Texas Sheet Cake. It's amazing how it makes the chocolate flavor explode. I love it.
I'd heard of using a bit of instant coffee, but not espresso and I've never heard of espresso powder before! So it's not the same as instant? 🤔 Edit: They really can be very different! There are even specific baking versions that aren't good for drinking. Main difference seems to be espresso powder is much finer than instant (which, duh, it's in the name lol), but there are some that can be used for both. Cool!
Instant coffee works wonderfully in brownies. I would save the espresso powder for different things.
Any time ATK wants to do a coffee or chocolate testing I am game 🙂
The episode I've been waiting for. We rise!
I just use instant coffee. As far as I can tell it's fully interchangeable.
I recently started using espresso powder in my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe—and man oh man does it turn up the flavor to 11. I personally use a tablespoon, but if a little bit goes a long way, I may switch to using a teaspoon instead.
I love Medaglia D'oro as coffee. Yum.
Nobody in my household drinks coffee or espresso. I don't see point in buy a jar of espresso powder just to put in a chocolate cake that we bake maybe 2 times a year if that. And if I do buy a jar, do I store it in my freezer? And if I store it in my freezer, how long will it be good for? I've never been a coffee/espresso drinker. The only hot drinks I partake in are hot chocolate and hot apple cider. I've tried coffee in multiple different ways and didn't like it so this is all uncharted territory for me.
Do you use instant or normal espresso powder?
Chocolate may be the king, but coffee is the emperor of the mornings 🌄 👌
Greetings ATK
Salutations from California 😋
This guy does good reviews.
I can’t find all of those. But the cafe is available in single use packets which keeps it from clumping and lasts longer
Old trick.
Wow who knew. I do like the gold medal espresso for drinking
Oh look, something to do with my leftover dalgona coffee mix.
This is like instant coffe but in powder?
Interesting, just based on the labels I figured the Civilized Coffee Co would be one of the worst ones.
no link to the "winning" ingredient ?
I get mine from Savory Spice Shop. Could not find espresso powder at grocery stores in my neighborhood in a major US city. The things they carry or don't carry is baffling sometimes.
Now I want a brownie 😩
