I Realized this video was never released and it was an unlisted video. So I am releasing for everyone to find it easily. PLEASE NOTE: Even though I used 1 teaspoon of cinnamon I wrote 1tbsp on the video, my bad! It is 1 teaspoon not tablespoon hopefully you can see that the amount was much less. Sorry guys. Hope you enjoy Guga's Rub.
Hi Guga , I'd like to know what type of salt you used in this amazing rub
Thanks for all your videos, I have learned alot on them. ❤
Guga's BRASILEIRO RAIZ.
hey Guga, do you think cumin and msg would enhance the flavour?
Correct me if I'm wrong. But this is suppose to be very sweet ya?
how come the black pepper and turmeric looks less than the onion and garlic powder?
He’s a nice guy – realizes people have their own crosses to carry so releases goodness in the style of free rub recipes
Hi, was that Diamond Crystal Kosher salt you used in the rub? I'm only asking because depending on which brand of salt you are using can make a big difference on how your rub comes out. Thanks for sharing all your awesome recipes!
Just missing brown sugar. But that’s good cuz I gotta go get ribs anyways. Thank you!
Four years later, been noticing the store bought rubs seem to be starting to tastes more salt heavy, and with a large family history of heart disease, have been looking for a salt free rub. Remembered this video, and made some without the salt and cooked some chicken thighs with it. Guga's rub holds up without the salt if neccessary.
I tried this rub tonight when I made sous vide fried chicken….You nailed this one buddy…absolutely a 5 star rub….Thank you from the Philippines
I'm going to try this Mr. Gugas
HEY GUGA !!! love your videos and whole crew !! some of the recent videos i watched, going thru you library , i hear you mention that the GUGA rub has changed since this video , did you add more ingredients ? changed the amounts ?

I was looking for some of this on the merch store. Sadly I did not swe it waa a thing! Totally should merchandise that. Thank you for the great videos
guga you tha Man.. thank you for sharing.. Smked paprika…. is the key to it all sooooooo goood!!!
sugar?! this is why you are fat
This is what I use as well, but I add a little Cayenne Pepper
Is the salt coarse or fine?
This amount of rub is for how much beef, chicken, or pork, 1 pound? 2 pounds?
By the way, what specific salt are you using in this recipe? Is it just a table salt or a Kosher salt? If it is also a Kosher salt, the 2 major brands, Morton's and Diamond Crystal, have different weight per tablespoon so it would be helpful if you can also disclose the brand used.
Big fan but rub is on the very salty side
I’m going to make a onion free version. I’ll let you know the results
I've been using this for a while. I've made 1 alteration, I don't add the salt in. I dry brine and add the rest of the rub when I put on the grill.
Giving the rub a shot on some sous vide chicken. I'm really hoping it turns out good. I halved the amounts and I'm using an empty paprika shaker as the rub shaker. I put a little less onion powder just because I feel it overpowers anything I put it on. Only 2 hours till I find out how it works!
I recommend for those too salty cut salt and Brown sugar at least to te half and balance rest of ingredients cheers
I will be trying this with a quarter of the salt and sugar as they cancel eachother out anyway.salt and sugar are easy cheats buit often not required if you trained your pallet not to get to much of them. that salt is the amount of salt i use in a years cooking so my kidneys arent dead age 50 and my blood pressure isnt going to give me a popping aneurysm age 55.
Guga I'm sugar free can I replace brown sugar?
I use this exept i put more spices and seasonings. I really think the paparika adds a nice touch and i put a lot of it in there. Really well. I would recoment 100%
Hey Guga can you please dry age a steak in open pit barbecue sauce
thank you for your generous mix. God bless you. very nice and easy video
Hey Guga, I just made this rub yesterday. Only modification was +1/8tsp of mustard powder and +1/8tsp cayenne. It was awesome!
This is the best rub ever. It really is great on everything mentioned
i replace cinnamon by nutmeg
Hello , please for the sake of future of this channel put NUMERIC/Metric values of ingredients , it is then clear for ALL residents of this planet , not only for USA folks 🙂
Big up for the 1.5 minute straightforward video. Most youtubers would make a 10 min video about this. You are the MVP!
Personally, I'm not a fan of adding sugar, but I'll give it a try with my mum's favourite add on to a marinade: Ginger.
Hey. Is that salt – table salt or kosher salt ?? Thx. I just know theres a big difference in volume. Not such a big deal if it was listed as a weight measure. Thx great video dude.
2 questions. First I know you found that using pepper for a long cook changes the taste of the pepper so have you tried it without pepper to see if it changed the taste of the rub?
Second have you tried adding msg to the rub? I recently bought some hard to find msg and I want to experiment with it
