    here's the recipe EL COOKS🔽
    2Cups AP flour
anise tea (enough to make smooth dough, about 3oz)
    1tsp OCEAN (salt)
    1tsp baking powder
    1Tbsp sugar
    1 egg
    1Tbsp melted butter (cooled)
    1tsp Vanilla extract

350F oil, 20-30 seconds on each side!

  2. I ate this for breakfast. I live in the Balkan.

The only difference is that we have less vanilla in it and add yogurt to the dough.

Because of that the dough is more stretchy and the end result is a bit chewier. It's still crispy and delicious.

    We call it mekitsa.

Honestly the similarities are perfectly understandable. Fried bread is staple all around the world. Mongolians have something similar too.
