There is so much to unpack here. Let me just say this grill is stinking awesome. Its an unbelievable grill. What I normally hate about high end grills, is sometimes companies just make nice grills to make nice grills. And they dont really do anything different to the gas grill market. Its just another product that is the same old song and dance. Well then along came Hestan and totally redeemed themselves. Because they didnt just make another grill that just has high end finishes and materials, there actually is a lot different in this grill that in my opinion offers superior performance. Let me break it down.
-Spring assisted hood- this isn’t just a lightweight hood, it actually stays put anywhere you have the lid placed!
– The ceramic briquettes are reversible which is stinking awesome. That is normally the most annoying thing with this feature is them always getting dirty. Well Hestan solved this problem.
– The cooking grates are awesome too, and are also reversible
– The trellis burners are one of a kind and unlike anything I have ever seen, they are 321 Stainless steel, so they are extremely durable, and the design is a way that will promote even cooking throughout the grill!
– The coolest thing in my opinion is that the infrared rotisserie burner is in the roof of the grill, this allows you to use the warming rack and a broiler or a toaster, which is so so awesome.
– Also the lighting is in the hood itself which allows for more lighting in the grill itself

Is this the grill you put in your backyard or which grill did you put in your backyard?
These grills are very high end. Not for your average person. But, very nice.
my wife and I are in the market for a new grill and not afraid to spend the money for top of the line, assuming it's worth it. This is how I landed on your youtube channels – so much great information, bravo! My question is with your rave reviews on grills like the True Flame, IS this Hestan actually worth the added costs? I've also read some reviews stating those ceramic briquettes can get quite a bit of grease built up and flame ups are difficult to control. Seems like you have one at your home, plus I'm guessing you grill a ton, so has it been much of a problem for you? Anything else you might add or other grill suggestions? Thanks so much!
321 is basically 304 with added titanium. More resistant to corrosion esp when exposed to higher heat.
The 2024 Weber Summit® FS38 was placed in this gas grill's price range, why purchase a Weber.
Have a question since you have so much experience searing on infrared burners. I have a Hestan 42 with an infrared burner and searing stakes at high or even med-high I often get lots of flare ups (especially with ribeyes). I always heard that flares up should burn away fast on an infrared burner. Am I doing something wrong? Should I cook with lower heat, should I clean the burner a bit more somehow? Thanks for any tips you can offer.
Very nice looking grill and design, can you please give me the pros and cons of the hestan grill 42 inch, i have been looking at this grill for a while but i haven’t make my mind yet.
Elon sure knows a lot about grills!
I buy everything based on reviews. Some said this was hard to put together https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt some guy said 2 hours and 2 beers later. I didn't drink beer like I was going to. I didn't feel like going to the store. I'm assuming I would have had at least 3. I took my time. Stepped outside for a cigarette break a couple times but all in all it was about a 3 hour project for me but it wasn't like it was difficult or anything . Only pictures but everything is pretty organized and labeled although I didn't see any #s on the actual pieces like it shows in the diagrams. Only the screws were labeled. On the cardboard part of the packaging on the back side. I put it together in my living room too. It wasn't supposed to rain today but it's Michigan and I couldn't wait so I put it together in my living room. Without beer but beer would definitely have made it more fun that's for sure. I'm giving this a 5 for easy assembly. I'll update after it stops raining when I can take it out of my living room and cook some food on it. Hope this helps at least for people who think they can't put this together because I did and you can too . And there are extra screws. I got nervous and immediately came here to see if others had the same experience and they have. You're not doing it wrong. There will be extra screws. Be patient. Don't rush it. Drink beer. Happy assembling
I kinda like the twin eagles grill you showed us..
I really want. A hestan but unless one can delivery it in pieces it won’t fit thru my patio door.😊
What's your opinion on this compared to their aspire line? Biggest differences?
Sixteenth
would the aspire's ceramic briquette tray fit in the original hestan grill? assuming both are 36 inch? I love the hestan original, but am concerned about the flat ceramic briquette tray — sounds like it will be a set up for flare ups
Dude we could give a shot less about your hair. Get to the fricken point. Deliver the doors for the 15k grill that I ordered last year maybe?
Their service stinks. And for an expensive, luxury product there are a surprising number of serious design defects. It's taken Hestan over 9 months to get my grill repaired on warranty, with them making me pay the labor for their problems! I'm not been happy with my purchase.
I'm getting ready to finalize my selection of the Hestan, but I've been seeing reports of hot spots. Have you seen this? The "bread test" done by Amazing Ribs made it look pretty bad.
Could you please address customer service issues with each grill ? I’ve narrowed down my search to this grill and the Lynx pro. I haven’t seen many reviews on the Hestan but I have found many negatives on the Lynx. In your opinion , is Lynx customer service lacking ? Thank You.
Can you please tell me if the prestige 500 grill is powered by battery or electric for the lights and rotisserie thanks
I recently purchased this grill and I was disappointed with their quality control and fitment on the cart. There were screws missing and where the grill bolts down to the cart on the rear there were two different size threaded holes. There were some other nits but my biggest complaint was that the two doors on the cart only had two screws hold the hinge to the cart and there is supposed to be four. They didn't even put threaded insert where the other screw should be. Overall the grill itself was good but there was one trellis that didn't sit flat and was twisted. For $12k I expected much better quality control. I have written them but no response as of yet so customer service thus far gets an F. The boxes came stacked on on top of the other and crushed the bottom box with the grill but fortunately it didn't hurt anything. My Wife and I are 73 and it was not easy getting the boxes separated. I paid $4k for my Blaze professional a few years back and it was much better fitment and their customer service was excellent. I really liked the infrared rotisserie on the top which is why I purchased. I give the grill a "B" and the cart an "F". I try to buy American when I can which is another reason I chose Hestan but apparently California products are more similar to China than say Wisconsin or North Carolina.
Convincing, can you ship me a 42 built in all steel for natural gas (not bottle)?
Interested in this grill for our new outdoor kitchen. I assume there is no griddle replacement for the grates. I am looking for something that can serve as both, as our outdoor area will not be large enough for both grill and griddle and my RecTeq 1250.
Great video! Do you think it would be good to try to make pizza on this or would it be much better to get a dedicated pizza oven? I've got a kamado so I think I'd like to supplement with quick high searing ability, pizza making ability, and the occasional burgers/sausages. I'm debating if I should just get a high end pizza oven for the sear/pizza ability. Thoughts?
Purchased the 36” along with the power burner and fridge for my outdoor space. Starting construction in a few weeks. Can’t wait to get it in and cook some steaks!
Great video and review! Maybe you should have a store in Vegas?!?
September 16th, 2021 this grill is $9838.
I want one.
How does this compare to Fire Magic?
I have this grill in 42". Probably wouldn't buy it again. Rotisserie holds up to 50 lbs yet you can't go larger than a medium turkey because the overhead burner is only about 7.5 inches away from the rotisserie. The ceramic briquette trays are flat. Cool because all you have to do to clean them is turn them over and let the burners do the work. Not cool is being flat they are very prone to flame ups. Burgers can be quite the challenge. Also, the briquette trays are prone to some warping and the heating is not very even. It is built like a brick shit house, it's just not designed very well.
Great review! Great video all around for information and entertainment
How does it compare to the eagle one?
Hey have you gotten to try this hestan out on a couple cooks yet?. I love your videos and been doing a lot of research on what to get but I’ve heard these really do flare up a lot. The idea of the rotis location on top is great to be able to broil dishes but not worth it if it’s always flaring up. I may reconsider to Lynx Alfresco or blaze. Whats your opinion?
Hi – can you ship internationally – I can't find a disty in New Zealand – Great vids BTW
You Talk to much(Clowning around)… Just do the Review and Stop Trying to be a Comedian… I guess I’ll buy from someone else… Greg
I am blind and love to grill! I am afraid of flareups as I have to use a glove hand at times while grilling. Would you recommend this grill or a tech infrared grill? Thanks so much for the informative videos!
Hestan, Lynx, Alfresco, DCS, Napoleon. How do you rank these brands? The one unique thing I liked about Alfresco is the small built in smoker box…. do any other brands have that?
321 stainless is marine grade for coastal living.
One of the things that I think that little bit of extra vertical space between the grates and the briquette layer below offers is a bit more space for the charcoal tray. Most of these nicer gas grills have a charcoal tray, but they always seem so close to the grates that I wonder how well they work, this seems like it has just a little bit more space where that might work better.
8.8k lol why am I watching this?
How are the flareups on this thing?
Excellent review Thank You. By the way I hate You Tube Police ass hats as well.
Got the 36" on the pull-cart with the side-burners and all trellis burners two years ago. It's outstanding.
When is someone going to do an actual grill review. A video looking at the grill and talking about features is not a review. Need a review of how it cooks. How hot does the rotisserie burner get to sear steaks under it? How even is the heat? What are the flare ups like?
Curious about the led flame table to your left, will we find more info on online?
Damn shame that you used it and now someone could get it at a reduced price. Oh, I see what you did there.
Nice video. What is the exact model you are reviewing ? There is so many online and so many different price. I’m in the market for a grill and you just sold me on the Hestan.
Keep the video reviews coming. Nice work
Nice grill but not sure how this can beat Napolean Prestige 500 RSIB. Sorry I just can't think of any even if you have all the money in the world I would go with Napolean. Thanks for the video Trevor !!!
