This recipe is great! I made it by hand and was kind of nervous at first… but it came out toasty from the outside and soft and pillowy from the inside. The flavor is good too…I will definitely make again. Thank you so much for this recipe.

Today marks the 3rd attempt making french bread. The last two times, although edible, the end result left much to be desired. So today I watched your video and changed the way I mixed the flour with yeast/water. I also emulated your bread blender gadget, using a dinner knife to stir instead of a spoon. The bread turned out so much better – the best so far. I do not use the egg for browning – but that is okay. I also halved ingredients since I am cooking for myself as to not waste flour, etc.
