  3. Today marks the 3rd attempt making french bread. The last two times, although edible, the end result left much to be desired. So today I watched your video and changed the way I mixed the flour with yeast/water. I also emulated your bread blender gadget, using a dinner knife to stir instead of a spoon. The bread turned out so much better – the best so far. I do not use the egg for browning – but that is okay. I also halved ingredients since I am cooking for myself as to not waste flour, etc.
