How to BBQ whole sardines the perfect way

Hi everyone, good to see you again! In this video, I will show you how to perfectly grill sardines on the barbecue, inspired by the Portuguese! First, I’ll show you how to clean the little tasty fish and then prepare them on the hot smoking fire! You can hear the skin sizzling on the barbecue until they’re crispy and golden-brown! Soooo good! I also give you some tips to make sure they don’t stick to the barbecue or rack, so you can’t go wrong!

I’m serving the sardines with a delicious salsa of mint and cilantro. It’s simple and it tastes amazing with the lovely grilled fish! If you like other herbs, please feel free to experiment.

  1. That sure looks awesome Bart, the only sardines we get here in my stores in the states are the ones packed in oil, or tomato sauce in tins. I think that’s what turns most Americans off of them. Thank you my friend.

  2. Hi Bart! This looks great. I love oily fish cooked over charcoal. I think you've just solved our "what to have for dinner tonight" question. 🙂 I'm so glad you are back online for Fishy Fridays. Have a great weekend!
