Love a comparison, but seems like the naked corn should have been cooked for less time. Also would love to see how to shuck fiery hot corn. Is there a trick?
Why do you put the corn with husk in water first ?
Field is normally for next yours crop or feed corn for cattle or fuel now!
Field corn is not sweet corn 🤦
I've lived in England and in Germany, and they were fascinated by our grilling. My military housing in Germany had a built-in grill and was directly across from German civilian housing. They are a people who loves to take walks, and often walked through our housing. Sometimes they came just to watch us grill, and of course we had to invite them to have some, and of course we did not have enough to feed ourselves afterwards LOL. Anyway, it was a great way to make friends. Our military housing is now occupied by German civilians, and for some reason the grill is gone. BOOOOO. They are really missing out.
Very clear, succinct explanations. No wasted words and time. Yep, we are from outside of the usa as well. It's a warm balmy summers evening, January 2024 here in NZ. The corn is in the Weber as I type this comment. Soaked in water and now on the grill along with some sausage's and potatoes. I'm salivating already. Can't wait to eat. I'll try the 2 other methods next time.
Nice work
Genuine question: Corn doesn't take 20 minutes in a steamer. Why does it take so long at 500F?
I wrap it in foil, then make a tray out of foil and but butter in it. Roll the corn in the butter, then place directly on grill. Then back in the butter. It chars, and soakes up butter like a sponge.
Thanks for the videos🫡 just christened my new Q3000 with grilling some corn and they came out amazing, turning every 5-mins and total grilling time of 20-mins. Going to start going through your other videos and trying different things out myself. Cheers Jerry👍
1:25 What plates are big enough to soak it. Wat?
Imma finally grill my first corn, let's goooo! Thanks.
Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster – especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part – the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part – if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
You got to get over not eating on camera. 😅
What was not mentioned in this video is that it's a bitch to shuck corn grilled in the husk. Pulling the husk off and removing the silk strands when the corn is hot off the grill can be difficult and painful if you don't have gloves made for that purpose. The alternative is to, before you grill the corn, peel down the husk enough to remove the silk and then roll the husk back up and tie at the top to keep corn protected. Then soak the corn, and then grill it. That way, when you pull the corn off the grill, the scorched husk easily comes off and you don't have to worry about the silk.
A lady that sells sweet corn said just put it on the grill and do not soak it in water or it loses the sweetness. I tried with out soaking in water . It is sweeter and tastier than soaking it .
I’ll eat sweet corn fresh off the cob it’s great
Like my corn charred so naked best for me. Thx for the video.
Perfect video just what I needed, go Cubs!!
While IL is full of corn, the vast majority of it is not sweet corn. It’s animal feed for livestock….aka field corn.
Less than 2% of the corn is sweet corn for human consumption.
Good video bro
