Save your empty cardboard paper towel rolls and save your empty charcoal bags.
Twist up some paper and shove it into the cardboard roll, and put a little oil in it. Put this roll in the center of your chimney when you fill it up with charcoal. Now, light it like you normally do from the bottom. The center tube will allow fire and air to flow up the center and to the top lighting all the coals from the center and top. Much faster and more even lighting.
Cooking spray. Didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip! 👍🏼
Quick question, why just put the coal only on one side?
Use paper towel and some cooking oil, better than putting all those chemicals to burn
Thanks. It All Helps
Amen! But those coals were to ashed over. Wasting fuel, May have to add more coal to your cook…. When the start to grey over a bit they are ready!
I usually just put a squirt or two of charcoal lighter fluid on a few wadded up paper towels, myself. Burns up in seconds, gives more than enough heat to light the briquettes and doesn't taint your coals with the taste or smell of lighter fluid.🔥
I use Webber lighter cubes. My wife cussed me out about using her paper towel 😂😂😂
I love this time of the year, thank you to all you YouTubers for help making me a better griller. 🙏 👏
Just put two Weber lighter cubes under there and that’s it
Whats the difference of just dropping the charcoal in the grill and start it, I can see the use of it when reloading
friendly tip: When you add captions to youtube shorts, your channel name logo description etc is all at the bottom of the video so it covers up your entire captions. I didn't see any of it until the very end. Place your captions on top of the video instead or just hoist em up a little higher.
I’ve been wasting my money on fire starters 😂
Thank you for the recommendation I had been trying for the better part of an hour to get it started
How long should coals usually last. I used 5kg over a 5 hours period and even then they weren’t great
Dumb question, do i still add fluid to the charcoal when in the chimney starter?
Why are you putting the charcoal on one side only ?
Us older folks use two full pieces of NEWSPAPER per chimney. Light with one match. No spray. Drink one beer, coals are ready😅
Us older folks use two sheets of NEWSPAPER ,no spray, one beer and the coals are ready😅
Jesus is lord and he loves us all ❤
How long do those coals last after you pour them into the grill? Just starting out here and today I lit a full chimney, waited till the coals at the top where starting to whiten, poured em into a half circle at the bottom…
It went up to 400°and quickly petered out on me. I had both damper and vent fully open. The moment I opened the lid to put the food on was the beginning of the end.
My chimney starter takes almost 45 minutes before the coals look like that. It's so frustrating.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, what is the purpose of these chimneys?
Usually use pieces from the charcoal bag. What did you spray?
