  1. I cook a lot, but I never bake. Might make this for my partner's birthday. I don't have 3 cake pans – any problem baking the layers one at a time? I also don't have a turntable, but I'll manage!

  2. I tried baking the cake and the rounds were thin. I watched the video many times, checked all the dates on my flour and baking powder, and used 8-inch rounds. I read a few articles online as to why my rounds were flat and then tried a second time. Unfortunately, the same thing happened. Could it be my oven temp is off? The rounds looked like they were rising, but fell a few minutes out of the oven. I don't have a stand mixer so I had to use a handheld and tried not to overbeat the batter. I really want to make the cake, but can not figure out what I'm doing wrong.

  3. I just watched this episode on the Create Channel, March 25. In their description of the show it has this recipe, and a review of toasters with Adam and Bridget, and then Bryan Roof and Bridget make Gooey Butter Cake Bars. Of course, there is ONLY the jam cake recipe on this episode. I noticed this last year when I wanted to see the gooey cake recipe. Please ask Create to fix their description. Thanks. Love you guys.

  4. That finished cake looks amazing! I found myself wishing it was the color of the bottom layer of frosting because I love purple stuff, if I can call that purple lol, but since blueberries were the coloring agent I imagine it makes a fun, evolving eating dynamic. 🤔
I'm probably too late to make preserves with local fruits this year, but I'm excited for next year's haul after watching this. 😁
I hope I remember this for later. Thank you!

  5. Christie is wonderful! beautiful cake. i would like to have seen a demonstration of moving the cake from turntable to serving dish. Do you just put the whole turntable in the refrigerator? That's impractical because I chose the cast iron model :(. I might also have to re-arrange a shelf.
