Don’t know where to start when it comes to making bread? Do you only have all-purpose flour? Scared you’re going to fail? Fear not!! This is the bread recipe you’ve been looking for! I will show you how to make bread step by step! Let’s do this!!
White Bread Recipe:
4 cups warm water
2 TBSP. active dry yeast
Dash of white granulated sugar
Mix together and let “foam” for 10 minutes in a warm place, covered.
After 10 minutes, pour yeast mixture into large mixing bowl. Add:
1 TBSP. salt
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup honey
5 cups all-purpose flour
Mix. Add 5-7 more cups flour (ONE CUP AT A TIME) until dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Knead by hand on lightly floured surface for 5-8 minutes. Place dough in a greased large bowl and spray dough with cooking spray. Then cover with a dish towel and let the dough rise until doubled in size, 30-45 minutes. Generously grease 3 (9 x 5 in) loaf pans and set aside.
Punch down the dough, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead it briefly to remove the air bubbles. Divide dough in thirds, knead each section a few times, and then shape into a loaf. Place the dough into prepared loaf pans. Rub the top of the loaves with soft butter then cover with a dish towel and let rise 30-45 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake the loaves for 30 minutes. Immediately remove loaves from pans and cool on a wire rack. Rub the top with butter while still hot!
You can freeze this bread in a freezer bag for up to 2 months!

I never thought a home mixer would cost so much. What a shock! Your Mama must of had money ๐ฒ๐
It would seem that the mixer would kneed the bread as well as just mixing it.
Thank you for sharing, will make ๐
How does this bake up in a Dutch oven?
Use in stead of water ; full milk nature and treat it further the same as water
This is the best video I've watched for baking bread. It's explained in a very simple way . I appreciate the calming effect in the voice of the presenter. Many thanks. ๐

We have been brainwashed to think bread is a very hard time consuming thing so we can only buy store stuff. I don't know what chemicals they use but I can come across bread that sits on counter for a week feeling soft and mold free. What is it doing to my body though lol. Sheri you are a natural teacher.
Wonderful!
Great video! Have a question.. what is the best way to store a loaf. Iโve tried Reynolds wrap and gallon bags.
I also make my own bread. I never learned it from my mom though. Sometime after I moved out of home, my dad started to experiment w/it and another friend started learning it. I hit the cookbook and started from there. I was making whole wheat bread for a long time and for a while I never added any gluten to it and wondered why it was so crumbly, LOL. Once I added a little gluten to it, it was wonderful and spongy like bread should be. I can't eat whole wheat anymore so now I make white. Down through the years I've experimented w/different recipes and now have settled on one w/some variations from time to time like Tomato bread. Again w/that one I learned that yeast and acid do not "get along," lol. I now but just a *little bit of Tomato paste into the dough, lol I have other recipes that I do also from time to time. Recently, I tried making bread w/just bread flour. The loaf was very nice at first, but after a couple of days (our household consists of just me and my hubby), it became kind of dry and crumbly. So, it's back to all purpose flour w/a little gluten added to it. I also use instant yeast now which cuts the rising time in half. As for machine vs hand, I really prefer the hands on. It's very satisfying.
I noticed you use 1/3 C honey; I used to use that much, but nowadays I use 2 T of it. The bread isn't quite as tasty, but it's a little healthier. The bread dough rises just as good as using more.
Looks beautiful. Thank you. From South Africa ๐ฟ๐ฆ

I studied in convent. There the nuns used to bake bread on every Friday and Sunday. I used make sure I go to the common study room just to get the fresh bread baking smell. Which used to linger in the air for hours. Now after 50 years I still get it.
Thanks for teaching us ๐ค I can't wait to bake it๐๐๐

My Grandmother taught me to make bread when she came out to South Dakota to visit . I would make 12 loaves a week because my neighbors would smell my bread and came bearing something to trade . It worked out good because I got farm fresh eggs and fresh milk with the cream still on the top. My girls was in high school before they tasted store bought bread. Got to start making bread sgain๐
Love your recipe. Love the container you flour is in.
Awesome THANKS
Never use canola oil. Do your research.
