How To Make Greek Moussaka | Akis Petretzikis

The wonderful Akis Petretzikis has a fantastic moussaka recipe using baked vegetables instead of fried to make it that little bit lighter. Delicious layers of potato, aubergine, courgette and beef, all topped off with a creamy béchamel sauce and a handful of parmesan. The perfect tasty teatime treat.

  1. I made this the other day and MY GOD it was delicious.

    I couldn't stop eating it.

I'm going to try and make it again but this time a vegetarian version subbing meat for Quorn and finely chopped mushrooms and adding Worcestershire sauce to give it a meaty flavour.

  2. I love this recipe, ive made it many times and here I am again! My husband is turkish actually and we will in turkey now and mousakka here is a little bit different, but coming from greek grandparents i love this style and so does everyone else, its literally to die for, thank you 💚

  3. Made it for dinner last night- I wasn’t sure I’d like those 20min intervals between layers while they baked, but it worked PERFECTLY with a busy toddler desperately needing mommy cuddles during dinner prep 🥰🥰🥰 O yea, and it turned out DELISH 🥳🥳🥳

  4. I’ve made this three times already, and even made a veggie version for my brother using lentils and mushrooms instead of the beef mince. It is a beautiful recipe and everyone keeps on saying that I need to make it again. Thx so much Akis (and Jamie for creating the platform for all of these scrumptious recipes).
