Loved this. I cooked them 4 min. per side for color/crust and then added the onion into the "juices" for 3 minutes. I then added patties back and then added a store bought jar of "savory beef" gravy. Cooked 6 minutes per side. Was great!!
For the gravy, can you cut the onion in bits? I'm not good with the texture of the onion so I can't eat big pieces.

I've been using this recipe for years. It is so delicious.
Just made this recipe came out great!
But, I used 2lbs ground sirloin beef n doubled the rest.
I also did not have Cooking Sherry n used a splash of organic apple cider vinegar n came out nice. I also added a pat of salted butter used my le crueset Dutch oven the flatter wider one.
Tip: if you don't have time to make the gravy- I find IKEA's gravy mix they sell and use for their amazing meatballs- works great with hamburger patties (or any meat for that matter) and onions.!

This is a weird recipe. I make this all the time and mine is so much simpler! seriously hamburger garlic salt, pepper, onions, diced garlic, flour, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and parsley.
